I have decided to start a blog so that we can track the progress as our new house is built.
I'm sure some of our friends and family may be interested in the progress as well.
So please feel free to follow the journey of the building of our first home together.

2/13/11 - Siding has almost been completed!

In the past week they finished most of the rough in plumbing, have our bathtubs in, have all of the gas lines ran, have some of our heat ducts ran, put our furnaces in...and have most of our siding up!  Great progress!

The siding they are putting up is a cement board siding that requires being painted.  So in the pictures below, that is not what the color of our house will be.

2/5/11 - The windows and doors are in!

So I went over to our house this morning, not expecting to see any progress because it's been very cold this week and has snowed off and on.  To my surprise, they have our windows and doors in.  They've also started running the plumbing through the house, and have put in our fireplace.  This house is going to be done before we know it!

 The back of our house.

The front of our house.

They've started putting up some sort of covering over the plywood.  Not sure what it is, or what it for...

A closer picture of the back of our house and the east facing side.

Our fireplace.  Taking good pictures as they install this, because we plan to tear it out some day and move it to the formal living room in the front of the house.

They've done some of the plumbing in our powder bath on the 1st floor.

I love the hallway to the front entrance!   They've finished up the archways.

This is the view of the stairs, that go to the second level, from our front door.

This is a picture in our basement.  They've started running some of the heat ducts, and the flex lines (which I'm assuming are for water).

No one was working today when I went over there, so I'm assuming when both Chad and I go over tomorrow there won't be any changes.

1/29/11 and 1/30/11 - They framed our house in 1 week!!!

I can not believe how quick these guys are.  It was only last Saturday that they started framing our house, and this Saturday our house is completely framed!  They also have our front porch and back steps poured.

The west facing side of our house.

The back (south-facing) side of our house.

This is a picture of the back of our house from a distance.

This is the first room as you walk in the front door...the formal living room.

This is our kitchen.  Looks like the started building our island!

And our dining room, where the sliding glass door will be.

Here is our living room.  I love the windows!  And you can see where the fireplace will be to the right.

We can kind of see the mountains from our house!  This is a picture out our living room windows (facing south).

This is a picture from the second level, looking down the stairs.  More windows!

And here is the loft (just an open room) that will be on the second level at the top of the stairs.

Dad standing in the loft, checking out our bonus room.

The bonus room.

Bathroom on the second level.

One of the bedrooms on the second level.

Our laundry room on the second level, and also where they will put or second furnace.

The master bedroom (they were actually working on it here)

Hard to see, but that's our walk-in closet.  We have a window in our closet!  :-)

Just a picture of the second level from the top of the stairs.  There is a bedroom in the far left and the far right.

And here is our basement...boring, but there is plumbing, floors and walls!  This is where our bathroom will be, that we will put in ourselves down the line.

There is the drain they have for our sink we will put in near our bar.  :-)

And when we went back on Sunday they finished our front porch!

Chad and Dad in our garage...checking things out. We did the 8 foot garage door, instead of the normal 7 foot one, because I'm sure Chad will have another big truck someday.  :-)

I'm guessing the next steps will be windows, doors and shingles so they can keep the wind from blowing through while the finish the interior.
